Our Story | Smit’s Chilli – Melbourne’s Small Batch Hot Sauce

Born in the tropical heat of the Northern Territory, Arjen Smit grew up eating laksa for breakfast and chasing flavour in every meal.

After moving to Victoria at seventeen, he started making vegan sambal for friends, just for fun. Years later, while working at the Queen Vic Market, his passion for fresh produce and bold flavour turned into a business idea.

In 2022, Arjen launched Smit’s Chilli with three handcrafted sauces, combining real ingredients, Aussie produce, and a lifetime love of heat.
